THE CLIFFTOP CHALLENGE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 4TH NOVEMBER 2023
Mountain Bike 16K
The bike course begins with some flat, sealed road, moving into a gradual ascent as you head away from the beach and head towards the hills. You then turn off the sealed road and get onto the gravel. You head up a steep section that takes you to the highest point on the course. (You may be pushing your bike on foot in parts of this section.)
You will be breathless in more ways than one once you emerge at the top of this section - the views are breath-taking! You can enjoy the Aid Station here and soak up the views before you begin the descent down the ridge-line. As you descend you experience the amazing sights of the surrounding area, including Lavericks Bay and Le Bons Bay. Once you get back on the flat you have a short ride to the Finish Line back at Le Bons Bay Domain.
Enjoy a mixture of biking under the shade of the trees, a gut-busting ascent on the steepest road on Banks Peninsula, to biking with sweeping views of the South Pacific Ocean as far as the eye can see.

Mountain Bike 26K
The bike course is the same as in the short course, but with an added section up-and-back on Cameron's Track. The climb up to Summit Road is epic with volcanic rock under your tyres, and added elevation giving you even more incredible views of the Peninsula and the South Pacific Ocean.
Enter the Long Course if you feel like an added challenge and a bit more time on your bike.
