MULTISPORT RULES AND SAFETY

Start/Finish Line

The Race VIllage is at Le Bons Bay Domain, Le Bons Bay Road.

Kayak Start Line is at the NORTH of the beach. Kayaks are to be lined up on the SOUTH end of the beach. Follow the marshals instructions at all times.

Competitors will start at the NORTH end and run approximately 300m to their kayaks. Support crews are able to assist their paddler into their kayak.

Kayak - Mountain Bike Transition

Transition zone is at Le Bons Bay Domain (see map below).  Support crews need to be in the transition zone by 8:30am.

This is the end of the paddle section and start of the mountain bike section for all Multisport competitors.

Once competitors have located their bike, they must run (or walk) their bike out of the Transition Area. No one is to ride their bike out of the Transition Area. Marshals will be in place to direct competitors at this point and all information will be in the Race Briefing before the start of the race.

Support crews need to remove the kayak off the beach only after every kayaker has finished the kayak section.

All Transition Zones are at Le Bons Bay Domain. Support crews can base themselves at the domain all day.

We will have a technician on-site to assist with basic repairs and issues on the day.

The transition map may change. An up-to-date map will be sent to all competitors the week of the race.

Mountain Bike - Trail Run Transition

Transition Zone is at Le Bons Bay Domain (see map below).

This is the end of the bike section for all Multisport and Duathlon competitors.

Once the competitor is off their bike and into their run, support crews are to remove the bike from the transition zone.

The transition map may change. An up-to-date map will be sent to all competitors the week of the race.

Water Safety

Water Safety is provided by experienced personnel, with support kayakers in the water as well as Surf Lifesaving NZ crews out on the water in IRB's.  Part of your entry goes towards this awesome organisation.
