THE CLIFFTOP CHALLENGE HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 4TH NOVEMBER 2023
All races start and finish at Le Bons Bay Domain, Le Bons Bay Road.
Competitors will stack their bike on racks allocated until the Race Briefing.
Race Briefing is compulsory. The race will start after the briefing and riders are asked to position themselves on the Start Line according to competitiveness.
Transition Zone is at Le Bons Bay Domain (see map below).
This is the end of the bike section for all Multisport and Duathlon competitors.
Once the competitor is off their bike and into their run, support crews can remove the bike from the transition zone.
The transition map may change. An up-to-date map will be sent to all competitors the week of the race.
Mountain Bikes must be in safe and serviceable condition.
All riders must wear a safety standards approved bike helmet and carry 2 spare tubes, pump or CO2 shot, bicycle multi-tool, and chain lube.
We will have a technician on-site to assist with basic repairs and issues on the day.
The Mountain Bike course has a very steep incline between 5km and 8km into the course. One section has a gradient of 45 degrees. The last part of the descent will require care due to the drop-off at the side of the road. The course is a mixture of sealed and unsealed road.
The Trail Run is a mixture of sand, gravel road, and farmland.
Trail shoes are recommended.
Hydration packs are permitted to be carried throughout the run, although there are aid stations on course.
Sections of the Trail Run are challenging with steep inclines and descents. If you are afraid of heights this course will not be suitable.
DUATHLON SHORT: 16 years +
DUATHLON LONG: 16 years +
Due to the challenging nature of this event, we have strict age restrictions in place. Younger ages may be permitted on a case by case basis. Please email the Race Director to discuss. kerry@scenicsports.net
